Abstract:
Purpose - With the recent increasing traction in the integration of data analytics and human resources management, that is, Human Resource Analytics, this study sought to examine the impact and challenges of the application of Human Resource Analytics on the talent acquisition Process of organisations in Nigeria, highlighting its important contributions for a thriving firm. Design/method/approach - The study adopted a predictive survey research design to gather data for analysis to understand the nature of the relationship between Human Resource Analytics (HRA) and talent acquisition processes in Nigeria. The data for this study were collected from 330 HR professionals with varying portfolios practising their trade in Nigeria using an online survey questionnaire tool. The data collected were analysed using a combination of Microsoft Excel and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) 5.0. Findings/Recommendation - The study found a positive relationship between Human Resource Analytics and talent acquisition, but identified challenges in its adoption, including a lack of top management support and data governance issues among Nigerian HR practitioners. The study concluded that the application of HRA significantly impacts the talent acquisition process, with challenges negatively impacting the outcome. The study recommends that organisations secure leadership buy-in, comply with data privacy regulations, and build robust HRA infrastructure, while policymakers can accelerate HRA adoption through incentives, education, and industry-wide collaboration. Originality/value - This research bridges the knowledge gap and empowers Nigerian organisations to unlock the transformative power of HR analytics for data-driven talent acquisition success.
