Impact of Environmental Knowledge and Attitude on Sustainable Consumption Behaviours of Youths in Ogbomoso, Nigeria.
Abstract
Over the last decade, consumption of goods and services has significantly increased globally, resulting in the depletion of natural resources and environmental deterioration. As consumers significantly influence environmental damage, they may also mitigate it by opting for products that are sustainable. As such, more customers are becoming aware of the importance of environmental protection, recognising the harmful effects of everyday products and consumption habits on the environment. Examining the sustainable buying behaviour of the younger generation is crucial, since they embody the future customers, employees, and entrepreneurs of the present time. In Nigeria, 45.46% of the total population constitute the youth making them the most important demographic group in Nigeria. Thus, this study aims at assessing the impact of environmental knowledge and attitude on sustainable consumption behaviours of youth in ogbomoso. This study sampled 240 youths in Ogbomoso using random sampling. The study made use of both descriptive and inferential statistics to analyse the quantitative data and test the research hypothesis for the study. This study further identified a growing positive attitude for environmental protection as majority believes their actions can make a difference in addressing environmental issues. This reality has altered their consumption patterns as they often purchase goods/products labeled as environmentally friendly, sustainable or green. However, this study found that the relationship between environmental knowledge and attitudes and sustainable consumption behavior of youth in Ogbomoso is weak and does not significantly predict sustainable consumption behaviour. This study recommends policy intervention and provision of practical incentives for production and consumption of sustainable products.

Assessment of the Determinants of Environmental Efficiency of Using Biorationals in Banana Pest Management in the Lake Victoria Crescent, Uganda.
Abstract
This research investigated the factors which influence the environmental efficiency of biorationals used in managing banana pests in the Lake Victoria Crescent region of Uganda. Participants were selected using the Lot Quality Assurance Sampling technique. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics in conjunction with Categorical Regression utilizing Least Absolute Shrinkage Selection Operator. The results obtained indicated that education level, social networks, land ownership, farming experience, type of planting materials, and presence of livestock significantly impacted environmental efficiency. Notably, farmers lacking formal education rated environmental efficiency higher than those with mid formal education, while a greater number of years in farming correlated negatively with efficiency ratings. Conversely, contributions to environmental efficiency were positively linked to the “Munomukabi” social network and leasehold land ownership, whereas intercropping banana with coffee had negative quantifications on these assessments. The study concluded that informal environments, especially those involving farmers without formal education and strong social networks, are crucial in pest management. Farmers with leasehold land with limited occupancy exhibited higher ratings of environmental efficiency compared to those with more secure types of land ownership. Additionally, older farmers tended to show less innovation and favoured practices that required less labour.

Examining the Influence of Digital Financial Institution on Green Growth and Industrial Output Nexus in Nigeria: A Structural VAR Approach.
Abstract
In achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) between 1983 and 2024, this study looks at how digital financial institutions impact Nigerian manufacturing and green economic growth. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Statistical Bulletin, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), and the World Development Indicators (WDI) were the sources of the data. The analysis employed a Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR) model, which is well-suited for identifying the structural effects of economic shocks. The findings suggest that digital financial institutions positively influence green economic growth. However, manufacturing output contributed the least to the observed variations, showing that the sector's GDP contribution responds only marginally and positively to changes in digital financing. Based on these findings, the study recommends strengthening the digital financial infrastructure by developing a more inclusive and efficient digital finance access framework to better support green economic growth.

Developing Business Opportunities through Waste Management in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Abstract
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), insalubrity is a serious problem that exacerbates dangers to public health and degrades the environment. In addition to causing urban pollution, poor waste management techniques also offer significant commercial opportunities that can spur economic expansion. This study looks into how effective waste management can turn problems with sanitation into profitable opportunities. To assess the existing status of waste management and its possible economic benefits, a mixed-methods approach was used to gather data from local companies, legislators, and waste management entrepreneurs. The results show that specific investments in waste-to-energy, composting, and recycling programs can improve public health, generate jobs, and promote sustainable urban growth. This study emphasizes how waste management and economic opportunity are intertwined, underscoring the significance of creating creative business models that use waste as a resource to improve the environment and the standard of living for urban dwellers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Evaluating the Effectiveness of Tax Reforms on Revenue Generation in Nigeria: A Time-Series Analysis (1999–2023).
Abstract
This study evaluates the effectiveness of tax reforms on revenue mobilization in Nigeria over the
period 1999–2023. Using annual revenue data from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the
analysis integrates multiple econometric approaches, including structural break tests, unit root
diagnostics, an error correction model (ECM), and ARIMA forecasting. The findings reveal significant
structural breaks in 2004, 2011, and 2014, which correspond to major reform episodes and external
shocks, indicating that policy changes have had measurable impacts on revenue performance. Stationarity
tests confirmed that revenue is integrated of order one, justifying the use of ECM to capture both shortrun dynamics and long-run equilibrium relationships. The ECM results highlight a significant and
negative error correction term, suggesting that deviations from the long-run path are corrected over time,
thereby strengthening the resilience of Nigeria’s fiscal system. Forecast results project sustained revenue
growth, with collections expected to surpass ₦15 trillion by 2026, assuming no major disruptions.
Collectively, these results provide robust evidence that tax reforms have enhanced Nigeria’s revenue
mobilization capacity, though the system remains sensitive to external shocks, particularly oil price
fluctuations. The study underscores the importance of sustaining reforms and diversifying the revenue
base to ensure long-term fiscal stability.

The Impact of Remittances on Household Consumption Patterns in Gambia: A Structural Equation Modeling Analysis.
Abstract
This study investigates the impact of remittances on household consumption patterns in The Gambia using a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) framework. Remittances have become an increasingly important source of external finance for developing economies, often surpassing foreign direct investment and aid flows, yet their effects on household-level welfare and consumption dynamics remain underexplored in the Gambian context. Drawing on nationally representative survey data and macroeconomic indicators, this research applies a series of SEM specifications—including direct effect models, full structural models with mediators, and moderated mediation models—to capture both the direct and indirect pathways through which remittances shape household consumption. The analysis reveals that remittances exert a significant positive influence on household consumption, with notable heterogeneity across expenditure categories such as food, education, and health. Furthermore, the findings suggest that remittances not only alleviate liquidity constraints but also interact with macroeconomic conditions—such as real exchange rate movements and inflation—thereby moderating their long-term impact on consumption stability. The robustness checks confirm the consistency of these results across alternative specifications. The study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence on the multifaceted role of remittances in enhancing household welfare while highlighting potential vulnerabilities to external shocks. Policy implications emphasize the need for strategies that maximize the developmental benefits of remittances, such as channeling them into productive investments, strengthening financial inclusion, and maintaining macroeconomic stability.
