Abstract:

Luke’s theology of Incarnation narrative unveils that the barriers of the gospel to the Greco-Roman world by the early Christian church in the first century were primarily theological. Luke ascertains that until the Incarnation- God becoming human in Jesus Christ could not occur because it was grounded in the legalism of Jewish adaptations. Luke-Acts corroborates instances of practical incarnational ideas in the initial fulfilment of the gospel in the first century. This background elicits incarnational ideas in diverse forms for different peoples and instances evidencing the strategic breaking forth of the gospel in the first century. This greatly impacts contemporary Multicultural Missions which elicits practices that enabled situational and cultural sensitivity to contextualize gospel communications as strategies for the fruitful outcome of church growth in the task of the Great Commission. The Redeemed Christian Church of God gives this study a concrete application point for church planting strategies in Osun Province 9, Ede, Osun State. The theoretical framework applied for clarification is missional communities theory, the study employs descriptive qualitative research methodology. Data were collected through hundred copies of questionnaire and member testimonies. The findings reveal diversity challenges with the most prevalent being Language barriers and the inability to contextualize mission within the community. The scope of the study is limited to randomly selected five parishes of Osun Province 9, Ede, Osun State. It concludes that Luke’s theology of incarnation impacts multicultural missions with robust practical initiatives in missions than stereotyping. This study recommends church planting and not church cloning.
