Abstract:

This study investigated the influence of government policies on engineering project management outcomes in Lagos State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, and data were collected from key stakeholders including project managers, regulatory officials, and community representatives. The analysis relied on frequency tables and percentages to present patterns and trends in stakeholder responses. Findings showed that while government policies provide essential regulatory direction, inefficiencies such as bureaucratic delays, frequent regulatory changes, and inconsistencies between state and federal policies create significant challenges for timely and cost-effective project delivery. The study concludes that strategic alignment with government policies, enhanced stakeholder engagement, and stronger intergovernmental coordination are crucial to improving engineering project outcomes in Lagos State.
