International E-Conference on COVID-19 Global Impacts

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has created unprecedented global emergency that has now infected more than 10 million people worldwide.

In recognition of the urgent need to analyse impacts, review policy and exchange front-line experiences related to the COVID-19 pandemic, African – British Journals will host a virtual COVID-19 Conference on 20– 21 July 2020, shining a spotlight on the impact, latest science, policy and practice of the pandemic.

Hakeem Olalekan Shittu is currently a Professor of Plant Biotechnology in the Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria. He obtained B.Sc. (Botany) and M.Sc. (Cellular and Molecular Biology), both in the same university. He pursued a Ph.D. (Molecular Biology and Genetics) in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, where he had a Post-Doctoral Fellowship.

Prof. Shittu has attended several local, national and international conferences and has numerous scientific publications in reputable national and international journals. His area of research is in Molecular Plant Biotechnology.


Associate Professor Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim

Lecturer, Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Abuja and Deputy Director Academic of the Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education University of Abuja, Abuja, Nigeria.

Dr. Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim is a scholar of international repute: a multi-lingual Political Scientist, an educationist who obtained his Ph.D in International Politics from Huazhong Normal University, Central China, Hubei-Wuhan, Peoples Republic of China. He is a Sinologist who observes the historiography, Socio-economic and Political development of China, the American Foreign Policy, African Politics and Russo-American relations among others.

He has taught at the College of Political Science and International Relations of Huazhong Normal University, Central China. He has been a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Science, Beijing Normal University, Institute for Contemporary China Studies Beijing, and Institute for Nigerian Studies, Zhejiang Normal University.

He is the first Nigerian Sinologist to have participated in the Visiting Program for Young Sinologists of 2015, represented Nigeria at the Round Table Conference on Forum of China-Africa Cooperation held in Johannesburg South Africa and carry out a research on Tibetan culture and other folk cultures for Qinghai Provincial Government.


Dr. Tinni Dutta

Dr. Tinni Dutta is an eminent Psychologist and a famous educationist, academician and prolific writer teaching in Asutosh College, University of Calcutta, India. She has delivered keynote addresses in India and in many other countries around the world.

Her area of specialization is Literature and Psychoanalysis, Drug Addiction and HIV/AIDS and on different forms of psychotherapy. She has visited USA, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and different parts of Asia in her professional capacity. She is recipient of various awards and accolades nationally and Internationally.


Dr. Nwagu Marcellinus Uchechukwu

Associate Professor, Department of Haematology and Blood Transfusion and Acting Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Edo University, Edo State, Nigeria.

Dr. Nwagu Marcellinus Uchechukwu is an Associate Professor in the department of Haematology and blood transfusion, Edo University, Iyamho, Edo State, Nigeria. He is currently the Acting Dean of the faculty of Clinical Sciences. He is a fellow of the Medical College of Pathologists and a Consultant Haematologist. He is a University teacher of Haematology for over a decade. He has several publications to his credit in various areas of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine.

His area of research is in Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Research Methods, Allogeneic HLA-matched Stem Cells to Cure Sickle Cell Disease, Half-matched (Haploidentical) Stem Cells in Treatment of Sickle Cell Disease.


Professor (Dr.) Amalendu Bhunia

Professor of Commerce, University of Kalyani, India.

Dr. Amalendu Bhunia has experience in teaching for more than 24 years. His research interests are in the financial markets, corporate finance, international finance, and behavioral finance. He has published 108 research articles and 8 books in the national and international repute. He has completed 4 research projects. He has presented 52 research papers in various international and national conferences.

Dr. Bhunia acted as a keynote speaker in 36 national and 5 international/foreign conferences. He is serving as a chief editor, editor, editorial board member, and reviewer in 21 international journals.


Dr. Abdullahi Walla Hamisu

National Surveillance Officer, World Health Organization, Country Office, Abuja, Nigeria.

A Nigerian Medical Doctor, a Public Health expert and epidemiologist. Currently working with the World Health Organization (WHO), Nigeria Country Office, Abuja. Has over 20 years’ experience in Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) surveillance, outbreak investigation and response. Has supported other African countries in the evaluation of their disease surveillance systems and in building their capacities to have a sensitive early warning system. A member of the WHO African Regional Environmental Surveillance Implementation Working Group.

Dr. Paulo Manuel L. Macapagal (RPm, RPsy)

Paulo Manuel L. Macapagal is a Registered Psychometrician and Psychologist. He is an educator, a clinical psychologist and a researcher.

He obtain B.Sc in Psychology from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Manila; M.A. in Psychology and Ph.D in Psychology from Manuel L. Quezon University, M.Sc in Public Management and Ph.D in Educational Management from St. Jude College- Manila, currently he is finishing his M.A. in Education Major in Special Education from the same school. His master’s thesis and dissertation were awarded as Best Thesis and Dissertation.

He served as faculty and professorial lecturer in the undergraduate and graduate school in St. Jude College, La Consolation College, Olivarez College, San Beda University, and Program Head in Psychology in Philippine Women’s University- Quezon City. He is the former Senior Resident Psychologist of Lourdes Homecare and Medical Clinic in Cavite.


William K. Nantwi

William K. Nantwi is an experienced Art teacher with a demonstrated history of exploring the right pedagogical approaches in Art education. Skilled in contemporary Art, Art Pedagogy, Public Speaking, and Graphic Design. William is a strong research professional who serves as an Editor for African-British Journals, European Journal of Education Studies, and a member of the European Centre for Research Training and Development-UK. He is currently studying for a Doctor of Philosophy – Ph.D. focused on Art Education from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.


Samuel Ayobami Fasogbon

Public Health In-vitro Diagnostic Control Laboratory, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Lagos, Nigeria.

Samuel A. Fasogbon was born at Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. He is a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Histo/Cytopathology Scientist, Public health Advocate, Academician, and a Biomedical Researcher, with a Ph.D in view, who has participated, written, and published over 35 scientific papers in various reputable journals contributing to the body of knowledge globally. He is also a Reviewer/Member of editorial team to many journals like Academic journals, Advanced Biomedical Science journal (USA), and others. He is currently affiliated to Public Health In-vitro Diagnostics Control Laboratory, Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). He has been actively involved in the development of several policies in ensuring zero tolerance to substandard and fake In-vitro Diagnostics (IVD) products in Nigeria. He enjoys hobbies like soccer, singing, and researching.


Isaac Oluwaseyi Ajao

Senior Lecturer, Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Federal Polytechnics, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria.

Isaac Oluwaseyi Ajao (B.Sc., M.Sc. Statistics), is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Federal Polytechnics, Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria. He has published several papers on Computational Statistics, Econometrics and Biostatistics both in local and international journals. He organizes training for individual researchers and organizations on the use of statistical packages and application of Open Educational Resources (OER) on data analysis using SPSS, STATA, SAS, MINITAB, MATLAB, and R.

His area of specialization is Statistical Data Analysis, R Statistical Package, Regression Analysis, Statistical Modeling, Hypothesis Testing, Linear Regression, Statistics, Economy, Time Series Econometrics, Econometric Analysis.
